In 2023, we were awarded the international Green Key certification – recognition of our work to create a more environmentally friendly and responsible hotel experience. We are proud of this, and it motivates us to constantly find new, smarter ways of doing things.
Our climate-friendly sedum roof collects rainwater and relieves pressure on the city’s sewer system – while creating a greener urban environment that is buzzing with life.
On the roof, you will also find our solar cells, which cover up to 20% of the hotel’s electricity consumption.
A full 90% of the hotel’s lighting is LED, which means we use far less energy – in fact, up to 80% less than traditional light bulbs.
Small changes can make a big difference.
Our corridors and common areas feature rugs made from recycled fishing nets, and our rooms are equipped with water carafes instead of plastic bottles, so that together we can reduce the use of single-use plastics.
We collaborate with Papirværk, a local company in Odense that recycles paper waste and turns it into new paper. All our paper is collected, picked up, and recycled so that nothing goes to waste.
We refill soap dispensers instead of using disposable products and ensure that items we no longer use are donated or recycled so that others can enjoy them.
At Restaurant H.C. by Meyers, we create sustainable and organic dining experiences in close collaboration with our colleagues.
The food is prepared with respect for the ingredients, and we always focus on minimizing food waste through careful consideration and planning.
In the kitchen, an efficient waste disposal unit ensures that organic waste is handled hygienically and in an environmentally responsible manner.
Throughout the hotel—including in our 234 rooms—you will find waste sorting facilities, because we know how important it is that recyclable materials are actually recycled.
We collaborate with local suppliers, stakeholders, and enthusiasts who share our values of responsibility, community, and our mission to give back to the local environment.
At the same time, we participate in projects and case studies with students—part of our social responsibility and support for the next generation.
